Gandoca-Manzanillo, en el caribe sur de Costa Rica es el lugar donde aprendi todo lo referente a técnicas de manejo y comportamiento con tortugas marinas. El proyecto lleva funcionando más de 15 años y fue, definitivamente, la mejor escuela en la que pude haberme formado. Trabajé con otros voluntarios internacionales y con guardas locales durante dos temporadas.
Gandoca-Manzanillo in the south caribbean of Costa Rica is the place where I learned how to manipulate leatherback turtles and how to behave on a sea turtle nesting beach. The conservation project there has been running for more than 15 years and it was definitely the best school I could have ever attended. I shared work with other international volunteers as well as with local research assistants during two nesting seasons.
