Inga bean

A esta le llaman "vaina helado" pero en latinoamérica se le conoce como "guava".

The "ice cream bean" or guava. I found this one ripe on the tree.

Una semilla de leguminosa que en su interior tiene una pulpa blanca recubriendo a las semillas. La pulpa tiene textura algodonosa y se puede comer; supongo que la llaman así por el sabor vainilla que tiene.

A leguminous pod that has a cotton-texture pulp in the inside covering the seeds. Not juicy at all, but nice vanilla flavour. Quite a good and exotic snack.



It´s all about ice cream... there is a variety of bananas here called "ice cream bananas" (right). They can be either cooked or eaten very ripe. I personally prefer way more the taste of apple bananas (left).

Siguiendo con el tema helado; a las bananas de la derecha les llaman "plátano helado"; supongo que por su textura. Personalmente prefiero mucho más las "bananas manzana" (izquierda). Tienen un sabor excelente. Aunque no seas platanero, caerás rendido ante su delicado sabor.
